@ adam: It's the only problem I've really had so far Razz - Don't you use Vista?

@Classified: It's only slow if you install it yourself. If you get a PC built, it will run Vista fast, well, and with Aero.

My Vista Firefox has had no problems the day I tried it. However, I use Netscape because... there ain't a Firefox on my computer no more and I am too lazy to install it. ...Ender. I thought you used Linux or something.

My vista works fine... I like both Vista and IE7... They both work very efficiently with me.
I'm going to test firefox now with it.

I don't understand why people dislike Vista so much... I used to not like it but it was just because it had a different design to XP and that was about it, yet it took them about 6 years to make it, but if I were to get it (which I did) I would be fine with it (which I am)...

Confirmed that Firefox and Vista = no no for login... I still standby what I said, besides for me IE is MUCH faster, and I use IE7pro, which lets you do what Firefox can do and allows addons.

I 100% agree. Vista is fine, I don't understand what errors other people have; I never have them.

i had vi$ta for a while, it sucked, it was unreliable and slow, even with a dual core processor, 3gigs of RAM, and a decent video card

and it was pre-installled, which is supposedly faster...

The reson why Vista works better on a pre-built system from a store is because the system itself was baught and the hardware configured in bios and so on to work to its best with vista. My pc only has one problem with vista and that is ram...otherwise my research was well spent as when I ran vista it ran rather well.

No. I went back to XP because some of the games I play don't run on vista yet as the games are pre'98 or '95. Also the programs I run for university work seem to preform smoother on xp.

I agree, I don't like the fact that to do tiny little things you have to enter code. I like the fact that it is open source but on the whole it is nothing special.

I just don't like it because you don't see it in stores and stuff. I guess my point in saying that is that it doesn't seem successful or professional or something.

I guess... Still, I think that linux is good for someone making a OS...

you don't really have to use a command line much in the more user-friendly distros(Ubuntu, openSUSE) if you don't want to

and as for linux not being professional, look at the popularity of Red Hat linux in servers and other computers that have to be extremely reliable

This is like and Apple Vs PC argument. just agree to disagree....all OS's are useful in different ways for different purposes. Just depends on what you are needing them for.

Linux was good, but I prefer Vista (Mainly because it's much better supported now), but I still run it in VirtualBox. Shame to let it go. Should be getting a Solaris CD soon, too, so I'll be having a look at that. Completely run on Java, or so they say.. Does that mean that a good Java programmer could make their own OS? Interesting concept...

BTW I fixed Firefox, I cleared the cookies Razz
